April - Zoe From Outer Space

Fly into space with Zoe as she explores our solar system on the edge of the Milky Way. Children will:

  • Learn interesting facts about the sun, moon, and each of the 8 planets
  • Find out why earth is a unique planet, able to support life
  • Zoom into space and enjoy an imaginary walk in outer space
  • Hear a story around the theme of space and aliens

May - Exploring the Rainforest

As children go on an imaginary hike through a rainforest, they will be introduced to its layers, terminology, animals, plants, food chains, and symbiotic relationships. Topics covered:

  • Location of rainforests in the world – maps/globes
  • What is a rainforest?
  • Climate of the rainforests
  • Diversity of plant and animal life
  • Importance of rainforests and dangers facing them
How can we help save them? Children will enjoy the story "The Umbrella" by Jan Brett as well as singing and dancing

July - Red, White And Blue

Celebrate America’s birthday with patriotic clown!

  • Learn interesting facts about the sun, moon, and each of the 8 planets
  • How old is America this year?
  • July 4th celebrations
  • Discover how America became a new country – brief overview of The Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War
  • Why does our flag have 50 stars and 13 stripes?
  • Kids are reminded that the US is a “melting pot” of people of diverse cultures and nationalities, adding to the richness of our nation
  • Enjoy the story Silent Movie – a story depicting the courage of Swedish immigrants

August - Polly Pilgrim and the First Thanksgiving

Board the Mayflower and sail with Polly pilgrim across the Atlantic Ocean to the new world! Kids will:

  • Discover why the pilgrims left England
  • Find out about life on the Mayflower
  • Learn how Plymouth Rock was established
  • Hear about the very first thanksgiving
Presented through story, song and dance!

November - Squanto and the First Thanksgiving

Children will learn of the coming of the pilgrims to the “New World” as seen through Squanto’s eyes. Topics covered:

  • Culture of the Wampanoag tribe
  • How the native Indians lived off the land
  • Children will learn how Squanto was captured, sold into slavery and then returned to his homeland
  • Squanto’s friendship with the pilgrims and their very first Thanksgiving
  • This is presented through story, song and dance!

December - Holidays around the world with Mrs Clause and Ellie Elf

Children will learn of the coming of the pilgrims to the Mrs. Claus/Ellie elf comes all the way from the North Pole to spread Christmas cheer and to enjoy holiday traditions. Topics covered:

  • The history of Christmas trees and why we decorate them
  • Why were evergreens important symbols to ancient cultures, such as the Romans and Egyptians, during the Winter Solstice?
  • Hanukkah
  • Kwanzaa
  • A story performed with props – Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett, or Michke - a bear who learns about the joy of giving at Christmas time
  • Fun Christmas songs and dance
